Toroidal Autotransformers
Toroidal Autotransformers compliant to SR EN 61558-2-13 are transformers having the primary and secondary voltages deriving from a common winding.
The power of the core can be obtained using the following formula:
Core Power (VA) = ( Vmax – Vmin ) / Vmax x Rated Power ( VA ), Vmax and Vmin being the maximum and minimum values for the rated supply voltage and the rated output voltage.
Aplicatii:
- Toroidal Autotransformers are used in applications where there are no requirements for isolation between input and output windings
- They are physically smaller and lighter than insulated transformers.
Characteristics:
- Power of the core: up to 10 kVA;
- Frequency: up to 500 Hz;
- Primary: up to 1000 V;
- Secondary: up to 1000 V.
